a Shoe, a Beach, a Mall, & a Ladybug

I know the title of this post is alittle confusing, but it is a funny expression that my son, Kai, used to say as a little boy when he didn't like something.  "A shoe, a beach, a mall, a ladybug!"  He almost said it as if it was a curse word.  All the things that he hated, he would spurt out in one long breath.  If I told him "no" or disciplined him in any way, he would point his finger at me, draw his eyebrows close and yell all these things that he hated, as if it hurt my feelings that he was saying such "mean" things.  It was really amusing to me and my family, which probably angered him more.  Hehe.  There were probably times when we would do something that he didn't like, on purpose, just to hear his rant.  Don't judge... you would have done it too.  This is one of the many wonderful/ funny memories I have of my precious little boy.

My "little" boy is actually not so little anymore, seeing how he is turning 12 today.  He has brought so much joy and laughter to my family and I.  He amazes me with his smarts, looks (looks just like me), and his loving and gentle heart.  He will even admit that he is sensitive, although, we tell him not to say that at school to his friends.  LOL  He often uses that excuse when we get on him about things.  "Mom, you know I'm sensitive.  Don't yell at me!"  I love that about him, though!  .... and so will his future wife.

Thank you, Jesus, for blessing me with such an awesome and loving "bug!"  Happy Birthday Kai!
