Desserts! Desserts! And more desserts!! That's the only word you need to put in the search box on Pinterest and I promise you will not be disappointed!
So over the last couple of days, the desserts I am about to show you, made the biggest impression and I cant wait to make them! They seriously jumped right off the page at me. So here they are...
1. Chocolate cupcakes with Oreo cream frosting...say what?!?!
2. Baked maple and cinnamon donuts. This one will make my son very happy!
3. Blueberry cake with light lemon icing (totally for momma).
4. Chewy chocolate caramel bars, aka brownies!
5. Double chocolate chip thin mint cookies...HEAVEN!
Wow! I think I gained 10lbs by just looking at them. I can't wait to make these! I think I will begin with those thin mint cookies. I happen to have a fresh batch of thin mints in the refrigerator. Those dang girl scouts are just too cute! You cant turn them down! Again if you want to check out these marvelous desserts, just look to the right and click my Pinterest link.
Some of you have asked to show you my favorite spring fashion 2013 pins and I will be back with that tomorrow! I guess this has turned into a week of pinning. Oh and I promised last week that I would show you my finished baby shower project, but that may not happen. Have you ever had a project just go totally wrong? Well I did! So now I have to start over. I will be back with that next week, sorry!!

Yay! Its Over!!
Four years ago yesterday my little Miss Emma Grace joined our family. I am still in complete shock that my baby girl is four. Seriously?!?! Where does the time go? And I have had a baby since she was a baby. I am getting old!
But seriously, I could not imagine our family with out that beautiful middle child of mine. She definitely is my most challenging! And challenging really doesn't come close. I have always been a very patient person,; never had a temper or really had a time where I have had to yell or raise my voice. That all changed when Emma was about two. I always say that God gave her to us to teach me even more patience. I love that little girl but Lord does she push buttons.
She does have the most amazing, colorful personality and Anthony and I always say that she will be the one that holds this family together when we are gone from this world. She definitely is the most head strong little girl I have ever met and I wouldn't have it any other way.
So on Saturday we celebrated her birthday along with her sister Kate's birthday as well (Kate's actual birthday was February 1st). It was a hectic day and I tried to remember to take pictures but as usual I only was able to capture a few. So here you go!
Here is my little bit with her "pupcake" as she calls it. I still cant believe my baby is two!

My beautiful Emma Grace! All she wanted for her birthday was a Doc McStuffins cake! By luck I have an amazing friend who makes the best cakes and she was able to make Emma's wish a reality! The cake tasted just as amazing at it looked! Emma was totally in love.
Here are a few of the presents they got!
We used to have a cute "little" kitchen from Ikea but that didnt last long in this house!! So my momma and daddy got them this AWESOME kitchen. It came with over 30 accessories. Cant ask for a better kitchen for three crazy kids.
My wonderful 2nd momma got Emma her very first bike and she absolutely loves it. She also got Kate her little car. She drove it around the house for the entire evening!
So all in all my little girls birthday party was a huge success! Oh and they got some amazing clothes for this coming spring and summer season! Thanks to my Nana and Papa and of course my sis and her handsome man for supplying some cute dresses! It was a great day and I couldn't be happier that it is finally over, haha!!
And I will leave you with this...
hahahahahahaha!!! love my crazy man!

Crazy Love: Chapter 2
Crazy Love: Chapter 2
Just in case you are not reading the book, here are a few points in the chapter that I highlighted.
**"But then there's that perplexing command: 'Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!' (Phil. 4:4). You will notice that it doesn't end with '...unless you are doing something extremely important.' No, it's a command for all of us, and it follows with the charge, 'Do not be anxious about anything' (v. 6)."
**"When I am consumed by my problems - stressed out about my life, my family, and my job - I actually convey the belief that I think the circumstances are more important that God's command to always rejoice. In other words, that I have a 'right' to disobey God because of the Magnitude of my responsibilities."
**"Worry implies that we don't quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of whats happening in our lives."
**"Stress says that the things we are involved in are important enough to merit our impatience, our lack of grace toward others, or our tight grip of control."
**"The point of your life is to point to Him. Whatever you are doing, God wants to be glorified, because this while thing is His. It is His movie, His world, His gift."
**"Any compliments you received on earth will be gone; all that will be left for you is truth."
I hope you are reading along with us!!! I am so excited to continue this journey with all of you!!
It took only the title of this chapter to make me stop and take a deep breath, because I knew I was about to read something that was life changing.
Here is the video for chapter 2:

French Loaf Pizza
I am always looking for fun and creative ways to make my kids most favorite meal...PIZZA! Well maybe I should add my biggest kid as well. My entire family loves pizza and honestly it is not the healthiest meal around. Well last night I made a version for momma! That's right. I actually became a short order cook for an hour or so. I love making what my family loves to eat but sometimes that doesn't always satisfy me. So I decided to make my own little pizza out of a french loaf. I do believe Anthony might have enjoyed it as well.
Ingredients:
| 1 | loaf (1 lb) French bread |
| 1/4 | cup plus 1 tsp olive oil, divided |
| 4 | garlic cloves, pressed, divided |
| 1 | small onion |
| 1 | small green bell pepper |
| 1 | can (14.5 oz) Italian-seasoned petite diced tomatoes, drained |
| 1 | cup (4 oz) grated Provolone cheese |
| 2 | oz grated fresh Parmesan cheese (about 1/2 cup packed) |
Directions:
- Preheat oven 450°F. Cut off ends of bread to fit onto a large cookie sheet/bar pan. Slice bread in half horizontally; place cut side up on bar pan. Combine 1/4 cup of the oil and two cloves of the garlic. Brush oil mixture over cut sides of bread.
- Chop onion and dice bell pepper. Add remaining 1 tsp oil to a saute pan; heat over medium-high heat 1-3 minutes or until shimmering. Add onion and bell pepper. Cook and stir 2-3 minutes or until onion is tender. Press remaining garlic into pan; cook 1-2 minutes or until fragrant. Combine onion mixture and drained tomatoes in bowl and combine well.
- Grate Provolone cheese. To assemble, grate half of the Parmesan cheese evenly over bread using. Divide tomato mixture evenly over cheese. Sprinkle with Provolone cheese. Grate remaining Parmesan cheese over pizzas. Bake 15-17 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Remove from oven. Using a sawing motion, cut pizzas into a total of 24 slices with Utility Knife.
Yield: 12 servings
It was amazing and it made this momma so happy!!! I will be making this for myself when my family tells me they want pizza for dinner.
Oh and for those that keep asking for pictures/posts on my latest sewing project, I promise I will have updates on those next week. Have a blessed day!!!

Say Hello To My Little Friends!
So with the cooler weather slowly slipping away, it is about time to retire my boots for the time being. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely wear them through the spring but its time for me to dust off my colorful flats. I do wear flats occasionally in the winter but not as much as my boots. I love me some boots!
So here is a look into my flat inventory. I just added a new pair this past weekend when I took a trip to the outlet mall in Williamsburg. I plan on adding a few more to the bunch in the next month or so.

So here is a look into my flat inventory. I just added a new pair this past weekend when I took a trip to the outlet mall in Williamsburg. I plan on adding a few more to the bunch in the next month or so.
Say hello to my little friends...
The animal print ones are Lauren Conrad from Khols ($35). I bought them a few years ago. The red ones are from Aldo ($20) and the beige ones are from Gap ($15). Both were outlet purchases last year. And front and center is the new addition! Aren't they cute!!! I went with a pointed toe this time and I love them!!!
I usually do not shop at Charlotte Russe ($20) but as I was walking past the outlet store, the colors were shouting at me from behind the glass. I am soooo happy that I went and looked. Here is a link to the online store if you are interedered in looking at their entire shoe collection, just click here. They have great prices!!
Now here are a few that are more on the casual side. Let me introduce you to Mr. Toms and Mrs. Sperry!! I bought both of these last year. Besides the new flats from above, these two beauties are the newest. If you have never owned a pair of Toms, I highly recommend them. They are so comfortable and every pair of shoes that are purchased and pair is sent to a child in need. Its pretty cool. Here is a link to the website...just click here.
Oh and you know I cant forget about my most favorite store of all, Target! They have some really cute flats this year. I haven't had the chance to check them out in person yet but they look pretty good online! Check it out here.
And here is a quick glimpse...
Arent they the cutest!!!! So go out and find some great deals and get some bright, colorful shoes for this spring and summer! Happy shopping.

Excuse Me While I Cry...
First I want to apologize for the whining that will occur in the next paragraph. You have been warned!
Have you ever had those moments in life where it was life changing? Well I am having one of those moments right now. Ok maybe my husband is actually having the procedure but I am freaking out just a bit.
As I am typing, my lovely groom is getting a vasectomy. That's right, I am getting all personal up in here! You heard me correctly; I said a vasectomy. I know I am not the one that is actually going through with it, but I feel like my heart is being ripped out.
I have so many questions! What if I am not done? What happens if in a year or so I want another precious gift from God? Yes, I know I have three precious gifts and I wouldn't trade them for anything, but it's a woman thing. There is something down in me that says I am not done with my journey of having babies, but my husband doesn't agree with me.
I totally get it. We have three wonderful, healthy babies...why worry about another one? Why put us in even more financial hardship than we are already in? Those questions don't even occur to me. I guess that's why I have my better half to bring them up.
As I am sitting here in the waiting room crying my eyes out and blogging at the same time, I know this is the right thing for us. I know that another baby just isn't in the cards for us. I know that I need to be happy with the family that God has given me. I know all these things and yet I am sobbing like a baby.
It will take some time for me to get used to the fact that I will never be pregnant again. Never have those swollen ankles. Never have those late night Taco Bell cravings and I will get over that. I just need to get home and hug my babies and thank God for everything He has blessed us with.
I am beyond thankful to have such a beautiful, healthy family and I couldn't be happier.

Crazy Love!
At our church here in Chesapeake, VA, my husband and I are the elders over the young adults. We have the most amazing group of people that we pray for and think about on a daily basis and we are so blessed to be a part of it.
Well...this Saturday night our young adult Bible study group, Evidence, is starting a new series and we are so excited about it. I want all our readers to follow along with us! I am sure some of your have heard or already read it; "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan.
There are ten chapters and every Friday for the next ten weeks I am going to post the video on here. I encourage you to get the book and read it! I have read the first two chapters and it is amazing, life changing!!
First is the introduction...
Now the first chapter...
I promise you will not be disappointed! Oh and if you have the Kindle, I bought the book for $3.44. I am sure the Nook price is not much different.
So join us on this ten week journey to find crazy love! God bless!!!

Get Your Ugg Style On!
Can you dress up Uggs? Sure you can!
This jacket is one of my favorites that Katy gave me this past year. She got it from Target a few years ago. I do know that it is made by Converse and they have an updated one for sale at Target now. Wanna know how I know? Katy has it :)
The gray T is from Target as well and the jeans are Gap outlet. I bought them last year on the clearance for $5. Yep you read right! I love me some name brand clothes, but refuse to pay full price. Gap and their outlet store has amazing clearance racks. Check them out. I promise you will not be let down!
Oh and of course the Uggs. Love those things! So there you have it -- an easy way to dress up a pair of Uggs.

Oops! I Did it Again.
Do you ever just sit down on your couch and look around at your furniture and think to yourself that something needs to be spruced up? Please tell me that I am not the only one! Well that happened to me this weekend. I have a couple of end tables in my living room that I purchased from a yard sale about a year ago. I think I paid $25 for the pair. Steal...I know! They have a bit of a country look but that is why I fell in love with them. I love adding modern with country! Makes a room feel lived in.
So this is what they looked like when I first purchased them.
So when I went to bed that night I was in love with them but when I woke up in the morning it was a different story. I. Hated. Them...with a passion! I quickly realized that I didn't like them dark. I knew that I needed to go get some lighter paint. So it was off to Lowe's once again. Trust me, they have seen my enough to know that something was wrong.
This time I left with a white/slight off white color. It was difficult to find an off white that didn't look yellow! But I found one and it was time to get home and paint.
MUCH BETTER!!! It definitely took a bit longer this time to cover the teal but I am glad that it is over! So my $5 makeover turned into a $10 one. Still not too shabby!
Anyone else have any "oops" projects?? Please tell me I am not alone in this one!
So this is what they looked like when I first purchased them.
Aren't they the cutest things ever? It was love at first sight!! I really wasn't feeling the off white, slight yellow color, but it obviously didn't bother me to bad since I kept them that way for almost over a year!
Well this weekend I finally had had enough and decided to do something about it. I was able to escape my house for a few hours on Saturday and decided to take a trip to Lowe's, my second favorite store! Not only did I go there to pick out a new color for my end tables but also to have a chat with my friends in the paint section. I kid you not!! We go by first names. Some may call it weird but I wouldn't have it any other way! I love those guys!
It didn't take me that long to pick a color. Oh and I didn't buy a quart or a gallon because that would have been way too much; I bought two sample cans. I think I left the store paying a little over $5. Not too shabby for a little makeover!
So I got home and got to work! And here is the finished product. The flash takes away from the rich color.

Escape Reality.... Read a Book!
I know that I'm not the only one who loves to escape from my life and jump into a really good read. Books are my outlet to where I can go and be somebody else... with no kids.... with no mortgage... with no... well, nevermind, you get what I'm saying. My life is loud, chaotic, hectic, crazy (or maybe that's just me,) and I wouldn't change it. But when it gets to a point where I feel I can't handle ONE. MORE. MINUTE.... I pick up a book.
Here are a list of some of the books that I have read and loved.
~Redeeming Love (my favorite... even more than Harry Potter) by Francine Rivers
~Harry Potter (all of them are great but my favorite is #5 Order of the Phoenix) by J.K. Rowling
~Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock (just finished this one last week... Twisted ending)
~Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
~The Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer
~The Restoration Series- Last Light #1, Night Light #2, True Light #3, Dawn's Light#4 by Terri Blackstock
~Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
~Jacob's Daughter, Amish Winter Wonderland, and Under the Mulberry Tree by Samantha Jillian Bayarr
~On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves (really good book)
~Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (another really great book)
~The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins
~Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (great book)
~James Patterson.... any and all books that I've read by him, I have loved
~The Bridge by Karen Kingsbury
There are many more but this old mama can't even remember what I ate for dinner last night. If you have any books that aren't on this list, that you love, please comment the title and author so that I can add books to my "to read" list.

Sewing 101
OK so I hope that I am not boring everyone with my fashion talk, but for some reason that is all I have on my mind right now! Spring is right around corner and I cannot wait to start getting crafty. I have never made a piece of clothing but my goal this spring is to make myself something! I cant wait to start using my sewing machine again. Oh and to be able to make something that is tailored especially for me is pretty cool.
So here is the list of things that I want to start making this month...
1. The Maxi skirt. Click here for an awesome website with an easy tutorial. This lady has so many different sewing patterns and I love her for it! I will be making numerous of these in various colors for sure!
2. Lightweight infinity scarf. Click here for this amazingly simple tutorial.
3. Summer beach bag. Click here for the tutorial. How amazing is that!!!! I cant wait to try it out!
4. There are a few things on my list that will not be for myself. I have several friends expecting little ones this year so it is time to get my minky on! I have never made one with ruffles so we will see how it turns out! Click here for the easy tutorial.
6. OK so here is the last one! I have always wanted to make my own sewing/knitting/anything tote and I think now is the time! With Emma taking dance, it could be her dance bag. Really it can be used for anything! Click here for the tutorial.
So there you have it!!! Those are sewing projects for the next couple of months. I cant wait to begin! Oh and for those of you that say, "sewing is not for me," "I could never do that!" YES you can! I have been sewing for less than a year and I have never took a lesson. I just picked up the manual and taught myself. It really is simple. Sewing patterns are also very simple to follow, well depends on what you want to do! I am so excited to start these projects! And if you are not sure where to start, there are tons of awesome blogs out there that give easy "how to" steps that anyone can follow. I will try my hardest to make my own little tutorial and post when each project is done. You should start seeing my sewing tutorials next week!
I cant wait to share with you all!!! Here are all the wonderful blogs that I have been browsing! I have to give credit where credit to due!!

Target 2013
Well we do and we love to talk about the new, upcoming fashion trends for the spring and summer. And there is plenty to talk about. Like I said before, Target is one of our favorite places to shop and they are always up to date in fashion.
Look at these two outfits for their spring line. Love love love that floral is sticking around. You may be seeing me in some floral skinny jeans this spring!
The short blazers are also in style. They really have never been out of style. They are a classic piece that you can really add to any outfit.
I also love this color combo. Katy and I are really into bringing things together that don't necessarily match but "go." I promise you will hear that from Katy over and over, but it is so true!
Loving this new line below that is coming to Target. It has a modern feel that I love! Again floral!!
So there are a few new things that are coming out of Target for this spring. They are debuting the entire line this month and I. Cant. Wait.
Anyone else excited for some warmer weather and brighter clothes???

Football and Cajun Food!
Who watched the big game last night? We most definitely did! The Hart family is all about some sports, even if our team is not involved. But I am kind of sad that football season is over. It just means that my favorite season is coming to an end. Although with a new season comes a new wardrobe and we all know that Katy and I love building that up! The thrifting begins again! OK so I am getting way off topic here! Clothes will do that to me.
So the point of this post was to share with you what I made for dinner last night. My husband and his best bud are huge Cajun food fans. They love them some spicy food. I do like it myself! So anyway my husband had the idea for me to make some shrimp and grits since the Superbowl was being played in the Bayou state, aka Louisiana. So that's what I did. And really it was a simple recipe but oh so good! The recipe came from the foodnetwork.com but I will share it here for you! I made a few changes to give a bit more spice. Whats some Cajun food without the spice?!?!
Ingredients:
Shrimp:
- 1 1/2 pounds (26-30 count) shrimp (I used a bag of frozen)
- 1 cup of sliced Andouille sausage
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- Freshly ground black pepper
Grits: ( I doubled this!)
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup quick grits (I used Quaker 5 minute quick grits)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 1/2 ounces Colby-jack cheese
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (I used Texas Pete)
Directions:
First, clean your shrimp and slice your sausage. In a small bowl, combine Cajun seasoning, paprika, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper, to taste. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the shrimp and sausage and coat well and set aside.
Next, make your grits. In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth and 2 tablespoons of butter to a boil. Slowly add the grits, whisking often for 5 minutes. Add tomato paste, a few dashes of Cajun seasoning, whipping cream, and cheese. Whisk for another 2 or 3 minutes until the grits become creamy. If you need to add more butter and cream go ahead. I definitely used more than what the recipe called for. It just depends on how creamy you want your grits.
Now time to sauté the shrimp and sausage. In a large sauté pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and cook until the garlic is tender. Add in the spice-coated shrimp and sausage, and cook only until they're just done and tender. Don't overcook. Remove the shrimp and sausage from the sauté pan and set them aside in a bowl.
The roux is next. With all those wonderful drippings from the shrimp and sausage in the sauté pan, add 3 tablespoons of flour and stir to make a roux. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes until roux reaches a medium-tan color, then slowly add the chicken stock and heavy whipping cream. Whisk together and cook for 2 minutes, then whisk in Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Set aside.
Now comes the good part...mix everything together and eat! Doesn't it look yummy!!!

Always Momma's Little Bit
I grew up with my Nana always telling me, "the older you get, the faster time flies." I never really understood that until I got married and had kids. I just can't keep up any more.
I am still in complete shock that my youngest "baby" turned two TODAY. Seriously! Where does the time go? And it breaks my heart even more to know that she is our last baby. Maybe I can talk my hubs into to letting us have just one more...we will see.
So today is my sweet little bit's, aka Kate Elizabeth, 2nd birthday. Can you believe it? Not me! It seems just like yesterday I found out that I was pregnant, which was a total surprise for all of us, and now we are here two years later. Unbelievable! She definitely makes our little family complete and I couldn't imagine us without her!
And if you are wondering why we call her her Little Bit, I will tell you! When I was pregnant and after we decided what her name would be, we told our other two babies and my son couldn't quite say Elizabeth. It came out sounding like "little bit" and the name has stuck ever since. I am sure she gets called little bit more than her actual name. But we love it!
So with all that being said...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET LITTLE BIT!
